If you’re not inherently sync with the Christmas crush, you might actually be exactly where your soul needs to be.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I’m just not that into Christmas this year. I don’t want a tree, I’m not interested in buying presents; I just want to curl up with a book and be quiet.” My client looked at me half expectantly, half sheepishly.

Our lives are so much more than what we can see when the sun is shining. The dark times open us to a greater revelation. The darkness opens a dialogue with soul.

It’s terrifying to lose what you valued, disorienting not to know who or where you are, frightening to face into the darkness, but it’s also freeing.

The winter solstice marks both an end and a beginning, a tipping point.  The power, the crisis of this moment, was keenly felt by our ancestors.
